POLLED PODDIES- WEANING 2010

Weaning at Boogalgopal is now completed for another year -  the young crop of calves are enjoying their new paddocks and cows are once again settled back into their own paddocks, content that their poddies are not coming back!

65 prospective young sires have been retained -of these 27 are grey polled - all with outstanding temperament and type.

We have been happy with the job that polled Sire Boogalgopal Glen MAnso 1830 has been doing over the last few years with a large majority of his cows now exhibiting the polled feature . This is showing itself through the herd more and more as the years progress and calves like these form a fair percentage of our young cattle.

Jaffra Soda (P) in his first calving has also sired a small percentage of the drop following his mating with a small  heifer selection.

Both horned and polled heifers and young bulls have brought very favourable comments from visitors- temperament is superb as is the depth of the drop. One third of the female stud weaners this year exhibit the polled feature
